One Mans Trash…

Looking down the barrel of a hectic week then a little QT back in the Mutha-land, it was nice to have a weekend consisting of food, plotzing and picture taking to sooth my swirly soul before the insanity ensues.  Dreamy, in fact.  Not like the Greg Brady kind of dreamy that  you might have been thinking but more like…dream state…ethereal and breezy kind of dreamy.  Like I am just waking up now, rubbing my eyes and then getting ready to go back to bed.

The getting ready to go back to bed part is for real.  I am not long for this world…or this day, anyhow.  Before I call it a night, though, I wanted to give you a little taste of my weekend.  How about if we start off with Apple, Curry and Coconut milk soup.  Follow that with some Krautsalat mit Speck and then hand made mini pizzas.  Unzip your pants a little, sit back in your chair and then cleanse your palate with some Pear, Lemon and Grappa sorbet before spicing things up again with some shrimp and tofu pad thai.  Thats more than just a taste, friends.  That was the menu for Friday nights Supper Club.  Here are a couple of my favs from the evening but feel free to drool all over your computer after checking the whole set right here

Doozer and Walter were happy for the company and, all in all, I would say that the evening was a success.  I partook in slightly more schnaaps than was required for a good time and, as a result, was slow like molassas in winter on Saturday.  Mostly I did dishes and aired out my smoked flat before trudging over to the SoundStation for some sittin. Yup, I said sittin’.  I did some of that before returning home for leftovers (no small treat after a night with the Supper Club) and the buddies.  After some archiving of iPhoto and some cleaning up of some harddrives I called it a night.

Sunday is a day of brunch (if you live in NYC) and a day of flea market, I’ve found, if you live in Innsbruck…in a few weeks I am going to try for both.  First, flea market and then home for brunch and checking/comparing of the loot.  A bunch of us rallied to a big one outside Innsbruck and, as is expected, I came home with some crap I proabbly don’t need.  In addition to that crap, I also came home with some photos.  Here are my favorites from today:

There are some other goodies…check them out right here and be prepared for more fun flea market pix in the future.  We grabbed a coffee before leaving the lot and, my almost favorite part of the day, was checking Albi’s vinyl finds on Armin’s portable player and seeing what everybody got…

We rolled back to Innsbruck and dropped off the goodies before heading for some coffee and QT with Armin and Co.  More caffeine, laughter, tag-saling and good times.  As always, you can live vicariously and see the pix here or be satisfied with my carefully curated favorites.

The weekend is over now and my work here is done.  That said, I am going to crawl in bed and get ready for a big week ahead.  (Stop rhyming!  I mean it! …anybody wanna peanut?)
