holy crap…

i was feeling a little funny about leaving the blog on such a quiet note but didn’t want to force any news. as it turns out, i have some genuinely amazing news to share and another couple hours before i have to head to munich so i figured i’d share..

Pitchfork Media has commissioned yours truly to cover the MELT! festival in Germany this July. A strange and interesting line up in an abandoned coal refinery just south of Berlin. This is a very big deal. Some of the acts I am most excited to shoot include Bjork, Battles, Franz Ferdinand, Fujiya & Miyagi, ModeselektorTake a peek at the lineup and let me know who else I shouldn’t miss.

Seriously, I am hopeful that a few of you will shout out through the void and offer up some suggestions on other acts that are worth running to…

Hot damn!

In other breaking news, See the Music Voulme VIII is up over at Runaway Dinosaur. Followers of this blog (I know you’re out there) know that I haven’t seen any music since our friend Pete Doherty in Munich so, as you can imagine, it is Recycled with Anticipation.

Enjoy and I will look forward to sharing some good stories and maybe a couple pretty pictures when I return from my adventure…

how very cool! i’m afraid that i can’t help much with the bands beyond your picks…but pitchfork have picked some great bands for the atp in may, so i’m sure it will be great.

    Beena -

I look forward to seeing some great photographs from you at the upcoming event in Munich. I’m sure you’ll capture the essence of the experience and the performers.

    Much love,
